Earlier this month, India had revoked article 370 in Kashmir and had then engaged in brutal suppression of the protests originating as a result of the revocation. Following this incident, some Indian actors have voiced concerns regarding Indian action in Kashmir. Actor Ranvir Shorey had expressed criticism over the communication blackout in Kashmir. Moreover, actor Swara Bhasker had in a tweet referred to the situation as 'heartbreaking'.
