When Khurrum Zafar, an expert in entrepreneurship, retweeted the resignation letter of Tania Aidrus, saying: “These naive dual nationals think they can be born in another country, acquire world-class education from there, gather skills/exp & world view working for multinationals & then just come back & help build Pakistan. You have to be born here to do that stupid.”
The economist, in response, said that the only two Nobel Laureates of Pakistan, Dr Abdus Salam and Malala Yousafzai, were born and raised in Pakistan but still a lot of people in the country don’t own them. “They'll always find a reason to get rid of you,” he added.

On Wednesday, the former special assistant to the prime minister on Digital Pakistan Tania Aidrus and former special assistant to the prime minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza had decided to step down from their posts amid criticism on dual national cabinet members.
These resignations came as a result of criticism by the opposition and civil society for the induction of dual nationals in the cabinet, which Prime Minister Imran Khan had always advocated against.
