Balochistan High Court (BHC) Chief Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail is displeased over the formation of a judicial commission to look into the death of former senator Usman Kakar, saying that he was not duly consulted by the provincial government.
Expressing his disapproval, the chief justice has asked the Balochistan government to withdraw its nomination.

The News quoted sources within the government as saying that the High Court has sent a letter to the government wherein the CJ expressed his 'strong displeasure' over nomination of judges and formation of a bench to probe the death of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) leader Usman Kakar who passed away last week due to injuries sustained in an accident, which has been termed 'mysterious' by his friends and family.

The CJ said that the provincial government's move was 'improper' because they held no prior consultations with him before announcing constitution of the bench.

In a letter written to the Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Sunday, the government of Balochistan had told the high court that the family of the deceased claims that the death seems to be unnatural and merits inquiry for the cause of death.

The letter said, “Keeping in view the importance of the case, the provincial government has decided that a judicial commission may be constituted under Sub-Section-1 of Section (3) of the Balochistan Tribunal of Inquiry Ordinance, 1969, comprising honourable judges including Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Mr. Justice Zaheer ud Din Kakar, to ascertain the cause, leading to the death of late Usman Khan Kakar.”
