National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairperson Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has taken notice of the illegal construction around the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam and has ordered that an inquiry be conducted in the matter.
The NAB chairman has directed the bureau's director general, Najaf Mirza, to carry out an inquiry into the illegal construction made around the mausoleum.
A press release issued by the national corruption watchdog said that NAB would also investigate the role of the management of the mausoleum in the illegal construction.
Moreover, the investigation will also try to find out why Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) was unaware about the constructions made illegally.
NAB has also stated that it would probe whether SBCA took any action against those involved in the illegal practices and will try to find out if SBCA officers were indirectly responsible for the construction.
