While speaking at a conference aimed at discussing ceremonies to be held on Defence and Martyrs Day, the Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor announced that at 12 pm on August 30, the national anthems of Pakistan and Kashmir would be played.
Asif Ghafoor also apprised the audience that sirens would be blared in line with the prime minister’s announcement of showing solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan had called on the people of Pakistan to show solidarity with Kashmir. The premier had announced that an event would be held weekly on Fridays in which people would come out between 12-1230 pm to express their concern regarding the Kashmir issue.
In today’s conference, the DG ISPR had also made an appeal to the youth to partake in the initiative, saying that the show of solidarity would also be carried out by people from the entertainment industry, media representatives and national heroes.
Asif Ghafoor also informed the attendees that events on the upcoming Defence Day would feature the slogan ‘ Kashmir banay ga Pakistan’ (Kashmir will be made a part of Pakistan).
