'Attack On Press Freedom': Reporter Who Aired CCTV Footage Of Captain Safdar's Arrest Missing
A reporter who acquired the CCTV footage of PML-N leader Capt (retd.) Safdar's controversial arrest in Karachi went missing on Friday night. His family confirmed his disappearance, saying that he had gone to a nearby bakery but did not return home.

According to his wife, Ali Imran had left his phone at home.

Politicians and prominent journalists have condemned Ali Imran's disappearance, with some terming it an abduction. PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz held the government responsible for the reporter's disappearance and said, "Stop kidnapping people for speaking up for the truth." She added that the reporter went missing for sharing the CCTV footage of Safdar's arrest.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also condemned Imran's disappearance, saying that the incident is an attack on press freedom.

Meanwhile, Amnesty International called on the authorities to recover him immediately and stated that he may have been subjected to enforced disappearance for his reporting.
