"I got a resolution unanimously passed in the National Assembly that makes it incumbent to write Khatimun Nabieen along the name of Prophet (PBUH). [The move was] supported by the opposition as well as the minorities," Minister Ali Muhammad Khan tweeted and congratulated the nation.

While the minister did not mention as to whom the move was aimed at, he has been vocal against the Ahmaddiya community since long.
On April 30, he was quoted as saying that the community had not accepted themselves to be a minority, but if they do, the government will be inclusive of their opinions. He then proceeded to post a tweet with the extremist slogan that a severed head is the only punishment for blasphemy.
Later, he posted another tweet, elaborating on the subject.

The finality of the prophet-hood is a sensitive issue in Pakistan, with the Ahmaddiya community being subjected to continued persecution, violence and hate-speech.
