Initial reports suggested that the young Kolhi girl was lured by the prime accused and some of his accomplices and then was abducted from her house. Advocate Veerji Kolhi, the special assistant to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, on human rights talking to Naya Daur Media, confirmed the abduction of the young Hindu girl and said that he has taken notice of the incident. He also said that the SSP Sanghar has been directed to immediately recover the 'abducted' Kolhi girl.
"It is very unfortunate that Hindu girls are being abducted and forced to convert," the CM's adviser said, adding that the government would foil all such attempts. He said that he was in constant contact both with police officials and relatives of the victim and the FIR would be registered as per the demands of the parents of the girl against all those involved.
The incident has triggered a wave of anger and indignation among the people of different walks of life, who took to the social media and demanded her early recovery and the punitive actions against those involved in the ugly episode. It is pertinent to mention that in the recent years scores of young Hindu girls after being abducted from different districts of Sindh were converted and married off to Muslim men with the help of some religious leaders like Pir Ayub Jan Sirandhi of Samaro Umerkot district and Mian Mitho of Ghotki district.
