Neo News reported that an elderly mother of Lahore’s largest public hospital’s nurse has died of coronavirus. The doctors and paramedic staff of Punjab and other provinces have been demanding the federal and provincial governments to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) since the coronavirus outbreak in the country. But instead of proving the protective gear to all the frontline fighters, the police officials baton-charged and arrested them for holding peaceful protests across the country.

Meanwhile, a group of senior doctors on Tuesday urged the ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government to withdraw its decision of permitting congregational prayers in Ramzan. The doctors requested the government authorities to restore their previous decision of allowing only 3-5 persons to offer prayers in mosques.
The senior doctors wrote a letter to the government, expressing ‘strong reservations’ over the government’s recent decision to allow prayer congregations. It said video and photo evidences have shown that more than 80 per cent of the people attending prayers in mosques were mostly in their 60s and 70s. “Clearly this has resulted in the violation of the first and foremost principle of preventing the spread of the virus in the most vulnerable group of elderly people.”
