Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has claimed that Chaudhry Shujaat Husain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid have backed his viewpoint about the necessity of new elections.
In his comments to media on Thursday, the JUI-F chief emphasised the importance of free and fair elections to steer the country out of the political and economic crises. He referred to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government as enjoying the backing of the establishment.
A news report in Dawn cited Maulana Fazlur Rehman as saying that the Chaudhry brothers had fully supported the demand for fresh elections.
He added that his party had given a strong message to PTI by carrying out the Azadi March.
He further apprised media of his plans to launch a countrywide movement against the government at the district level.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that the economy of Pakistan was deteriorating because of the wrong policies of the ruling government.
