It is pertinent to mention here that the federal minister has been opposing the parliamentary sessions of both National Assembly and Senate citing the risk of contracting the deadly virus. Earlier, Fawad Chaudhy had said that he would not attend the NA sessions considering that some members of the assembly and staffers have tested positive for coronavirus. He also mentioned in a tweet that he suggested having online meetings through video link, adding that in-person meetings would be endangering the country’s political leadership and they would be at a risk of contracting the virus from each other.

The minister had also not attended the important session of NA in which the federal government’s budget for FY 2020-2021 was announced.
