Official Facebook page of the minister posted a video saying that Fawad Chaudhy has addressed the crowd in Jhelum’s Pind Dadan Khan during the inauguration ceremony of a passport office. The minister not only allowed the public gathering in his constituency amid the coronavirus situation across Pakistan, but also attended the ceremony himself to address the crowd.

It is pertinent to mention here that the federal minister has been opposing the parliamentary sessions of both National Assembly and Senate citing the risk of contracting the deadly virus. Earlier, Fawad Chaudhy had said that he would not attend the NA sessions considering that some members of the assembly and staffers have tested positive for coronavirus. He also mentioned in a tweet that he suggested having online meetings through video link, adding that in-person meetings would be endangering the country’s political leadership and they would be at a risk of contracting the virus from each other.
The minister had also not attended the important session of NA in which the federal government’s budget for FY 2020-2021 was announced.
