After raping and murdering a seven-year-old girl in Nowshera, one of the two men accused has confessed to his crime in a local court.
The men were presented in the court of the local civil judge-cum-judicial magistrate for trying to drown and killing the minor girl after raping her earlier. One of the suspects has confessed while the other pleaded not guilty; the court sent both to jail on judicial remand.
“The two accused men had been caught red-handed late last week in the city's Ziarat Kaka Sahib area as they tried to drown and killed a seven-year-old girl after allegedly raping her earlier,” police said.
The minor girl had gone to madrassa but never returned home. Later, it was discovered that two men were attempting to drown her in a water tank. Residents of the area alleged that the two men had first sexually abused the girl then brutally murdered her. Authorities arrested the men after the residents handed them over.
