The former PM was asked about establishment “distancing itself from Imran Khan”, he said he was not the PM’s spokesperson. “But it seems like the establishment is totally neutral."
Gilani’s statement is contradictory to what other opposition leaders say. They alleged that Imran Khan’s government is “selected” which clearly enunciates that the establishment chose Imran Khan to become Prime Minister and favours him.
Gilani was accused of having had telephonic conversations with former PTI member Jahangir Tareen but the former premier denied these rumours. He, however admitted that Tareen is his “relative”.
Talking about senate election, Gilani maintained that he was confident he would win. Talking about elections for premiership, Gilani said that he had gotten 264 votes while his opponent received 42.
