A case has been registered against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain retired Muhammad Safdar and 15 others for attacking police officials in the accountability court in Lahore.

Captain Safdar and PML-N workers had reportedly misbehaved with and manhandled police constables.

On August 21, party workers of PML-N had clashed with law enforcement officials before PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and her cousin Yousuf Abbas were to appear at the accountability court.

This is the second incident in recent days whereby police have been at the receiving end of misbehaviour by people associated with PML-N.

Earlier, a former PML-N MPA, Iftikhar Baloch, had been arrested for his use of vulgar language against a district police officer and a ruling member of the provincial assembly while raising slogans at a public meeting.
