Sindh Bar Council has urged Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmad to take suo motu notice of the alleged abduction of IG Sindh Police and address the 'serious implications' it poses for the rule of law and constitutionalism in Pakistan, 'before it is too late'. A resolution passed by the bar council in this regard notes that the judiicary has been a silent spectator in the face of 'this creeping martial law'.
The statement further says that the demoralisation of Sindh police amid their leave applications point to the 'complete breakdown' of rule of law in Pakistan.
The bar council has demanded a Full Court of the Supreme Court be called to hear the case.
