In a suicide note, she wrote names of her alleged blackmailers. "I want to live, but Soam Meghwar, Mahesh and Ashok have made my life miserable".
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Badin Hassan Sardar Niazi came across the case through social media and met with the victim's family members, guaranteeing them justice. Station House Officer (SHO) Tando Ghulam Ali Riaz Rind was directed to file a First Information Report (FIR) against those named in the suicide note and immediately arrest them.
Dr. Lakhan Parmar, the father of the victim, mentioned in the complaint that Soam, Ashok and Mahesh blackmailed his daughter through doctored images. They are also said to have extorted Rs50,000 from the deceased on a monthly basis.
Family members of the victim also said that the accused sent doctored images of her to her fiancee, after which he refused to marry her. Dr. Parmar maintained that his daughter had taken the extreme step of taking her own life because she was sick of the continuous blackmail.
SSP Niazi said that raids are being conducted to arrest the other two culprits too.
