Healthcare and medical education in Pakistan were the main topics discussed in the meeting. PM Imran Khan had accepted the proposal of APPNA to create an official role for APPNA in healthcare and medical education in Pakistan at the governmental and institutional level.
This is the first time in the 42-year history of APPNA that it has been recognized at the state level as an institution and will be collaborating to shape the healthcare policies in Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan has agreed that APPNA will not only be given a seat at the table at Pakistan Health Care Task Force but will also be represented at Pakistan Medical Council.
President of Khyber Medical College alumni, Dr Rashid Hanif, Chair Board of Governors for American College of Physicians Dr Omar Atiq and APPNA Secretary-Elect Dr Haroon Durrani were also present on the occasion.
A vote of thanks with enthusiastic support was given to the Prime Minister Imran Khan from APPNA. Members of APPNA delegation has thanked the Prime Minister and a group photo was taken at the end.
