The provincial minister expressed these views while talking to reporters in Karachi. Pechuhu stated that students in Sindh faced several hurdles as they took the MDCAT held on November 29. A second test was conducted by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) on December 13 for students who could not take the previous one due to coronavirus situation.
Further, the minister claimed that the multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in the test followed the syllabus of the Federal Board, because of which students of Sindh could not perform well. She added that 14 of the questions were not relevant and the results were false due to roll numbers of the students being mixed up.
The exams were conducted despite strong protest from students who had used hashtags #DelayMDCAT2020 and #ShameOnPMC, urging the government to postpone the entry exams in light of the Covid situation in the country. Politicians including PMLN leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Moonis Elahi, Khawaja Asif and journalists like Hamid Mir had also urged the examination body and government to listen to the students' grievances.
