Saba Sharif, a 30-year-old woman, told the high court that she was born to Chaudhry Muhammad Sharif 30 years ago as a girl.
However, she said, she started developing masculinity from her childhood, reported a local media outlet. The woman said the 'gender disorder' that came with frequent pains was becoming unbearable.
She said a surgeon at a private hospital in Lahore, after examining the reports of her ultrasound scans, advised her surgery for a sex change so that she could lead a normal life.
However, the surgeon asked her to secure permission from a court to avoid any legal complication in the future, she added.
The petitioner requested the court to issue directives to a hospital and a plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon through the secretary health for her surgery and transgender hormonal treatment.
At this, LHC Justice Jawad Hassan issued notices to the Punjab chief secretary, secretary health and other authorities and adjourned the hearing for one week.
