Punjab Textbook Board Confiscates Social Studies Book Showing Malala As National Hero
Punjab Textbook Board (PTB) has reportedly confiscated a Social Studies book showing Nobel laureate girls rights activist Malala Yousafzai as Pakistan's national hero.

Reporter Arshad Chaudhry wrote on Twitter that the 'action' was taken because the book showed Malala's photo alongside that of 1965 war hero Major Aziz Bhatti.

The entire stock of the textbook that has been published by Oxford University Press has allegedly been confiscated by the PTB.

A raid was carried out on the OUP office in Gulberg and the entire stock of the book was confiscated. The PTB officials gave a letter to the press, saying that the book was not issued a No-Objection Certificate (NOC).
Naya Daur Media reached out to PTB officials for comment and the story will be updated as they respond to our request.

In 2013, Pakistani private schools associations office bearers banned Malala Yousafzai's book 'I am Malala' from private schools across the country, saying that it disrespected Islam.
