Blasphemy-Accused Shot On Way To Court In Multan
A blasphemy-accused man was shot and injured in Multan by the brother of the complainant when he was on his way to hearing of the complaint filed against him.

Dawn quoted the police as saying that the wounded man lives in Mauza Jhok Lashkarpur, and was going to attend hearing of a blasphemy case against him when the incident took place.

The FIR included Section 295-B and was filed in 2019. The complainant had claimed that he was told by a person that the man had desecrated the holy Quran. Following the FIR, the accused was taken into custody by the Makhdoom Rasheed police, but later released on bail.

He sustained five bullet injuries on his leg when he left his home for the court to attend the hearing. The victim's sister told police that Qaisar Hayat, who is the brother of the complainant, and their accomplices shot her brother.

The wounded's condition is said to be stable. FIR of the crime has not been registered yet.
