Afghan Taliban Say Pakistan Cannot Dictate To Them
Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan spokesperson Suhail Shaheen has said Pakistan may assist the Taliban in finding a negotiated settlement in Afghanistan but the country cannot dictate to the Taliban or impose its views on them.

He issued these remarks while speaking to anchor Saleem Safi during his show on Geo News. Asked about the reports that Taliban have refused to listen to Islamabad, he said, "Pakistan is a Muslim country and our neighbour. We want brotherly relations based on shared historical, religious and cultural values."

Shaheen said that Islamabad can help the Taliban in peace process, but cannot impose its views on the Taliban as it was against international principles.

Shaheen further said that the Taliban's demand for an Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was a legitimate one as it is the right of the people of Afghanistan.

In response to a question about what the Afghan Taliban think of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the TTP spokesperson said that he was not aware of the TTP emir pleaded allegiance to the Afghan Taliban leader.
