ISLAMABAD: PMLN President and National Assembly Opposition Leader Shehbaz says the real truth about PTI's economic performance is that rate of inflation in May was 17 percent while that in April was 21 percent.
In a statement about the upcoming budget he said it is a product of fudged figured and tampered statistics. The reality is that this inflation has crushed the people who are now struggling to survive. Every middle class and working class home is fighting starvation and misery. From lentils, flour, vegetables, meat, chicken and virtually every commodity of everyday use.
He said in just the past 1 year the electricity tariff has increased by a whopping 60 percent which jacked up electricity bills of all by 21 percent. This serpent of inflation has devoured the entire nation, he said.
The National Assembly Opposition Leader said in just 3 years, this PTI government had ruined the economic gains of PMLN's 5 years from 2013 to 2018. He mentioned that PMLN pulled 20 million people out of poverty while mafia-patronising PTI added 50 million more.
Shehbaz said the poverty, inflation and unemployment will be Imran and his government's legacy forever.
