Pakistan Adds Four More Countries To C-Category

In a bid to stem Covid-19 spread in the country, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Saturday issued a renewed travel advisory, adding more countries to C-category.


The travel advisory issued by the NCOC has included four more countries in the C-category list, bringing the total number of countries in the list to 26 including India, Iraq, and Iran. “The passengers travelling from these countries had to stay in quarantine besides having a prior test for COVID-19,” the NCOC said.


Meanwhile, thirty-four passengers tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) upon arrival at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport on Saturday.


According to details, 156 passengers arrived at the airport from Dubai. Their swabs were taken for a coronavirus test, after which 34 of the passengers were found to be carrying the deadly virus. Trained dogs deployed at the Peshawar airport helped detect the coronavirus positive patients.


Subsequently, Peshawar airport officials handed over the affected passengers to the district administration to shift them to quarantine centres. The airport is being completely disinfected, they said.


Meanwhile, Pakistan Railways Karachi division has established a corona vaccination centre at a railway hospital at Karachi Cantt on Saturday.


The railways corona vaccine centre has been set up at Hassan Hospital of the Pakistan Railways for the railways employees as well as the general public, officials said. The vaccination centre will inoculate 200 people daily with the coronavirus vaccine.


The authorities have deputed 10 members of the Hassan Hospital’s staff to the corona vaccine centre. The vaccination centre will remain open from 9:00am to 3:00pm daily except Sunday.
