Firdous Ashiq’s Act Of Slapping MNA Mandokhel Draws Widespread Criticism
Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan’s outburst on set of a TV show wherein she slapped her co-panelist MNA Qadir Mandokhel of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has been widely condemned. A leaked video showing the SACM slapping Mandokhel after exchange of hot words went viral on social media on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Dr Firdous released a video ‘clarifying’ that her act was justified because Qadir Mandokhel had provoked her by insulting her family during the discussion. The leaked video from the moment she loses her cool however does not show the insulting remarks allegedly made by Mandokhel.
Social media users including politicians and journalists took to Twitter to condemn the misbehaviour displayed by Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan. Many also questioned as to why the host, Javed Chaudhry, allowed his guest to behave in this manner.
The appalling leaked video of Firdous Ashiq Awan and Qadir Mandokhel is a new low in TV history. Anchor Javed Ch did nothing to control the situation for several minutes. He is equally culpable in this sordid mess. Leaking the off-air, edited section is tawdry and cheap.

Most political parties find it difficult to live up to their lofty ideals when in power. But no political party has gone faster in reverse than the ruling PTI. Sad that a party once represented by @FauziaKasuri is now exemplified by likes of @Dr_FirdousPTI. https://t.co/r0v8cHRf43

If the PPP Mandokhel abused Firdous Ashiq Awan or her father, she should have shut him up with words, given the anchor hell for letting it happen, & walked out of the show instead of continuing to sit w/ the abusive co-panelist. On camera when she hit him the topic was different

Firdous Ashiq Awan must apologize, instead of being defensive and doubling down on her rowdy behaviour.
