Pakistan's single day tally of Covid-19 cases was reported to be below 4,000 for the first time in a month, apparently due to stricter enforcement of SOPs.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 3,377 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the country in the past 24 hours, which is the lowest tally for the first time since April 5. Earlier, NCOC Chairman and Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar had said that deployment of Pakistan Army troops to implement Covid SOPs was working well. Repeated warnings are being issued against SOPs violations, which seems to be working.
However, Information Minister Fawad Chauhdry said that Covid SOPs were not fully being implemented in Karachi. He said that the restrictions were being followed in the country except in Karachi. The minister further said that if this noncompliance continues, the rest of the country might be affected.
