Pakistan Bar Council Says Journalist Asad Toor's Legal Team Receiving Threats, Intimidation
Pakistan Bar Council has condemned the threats journalist Asad Ali Toor's legal team comprising members of the Journalist Defence Committee allegedly received. In a statement, the PBC Vice-Chairman Khush Dil Khan condemned what he called 'blatant attempts to intimidate and threaten those who work towards upholding the rule of law'.

The Journalist Defence Committee had formed a legal team to pursue the case of journalist Asad Ali Toor who was attacked and beaten up inside his house earlier this week.

The attack on Asad Toor has been widely condemned by the journalist community whose members say the state has failed to protect journalists. A protest held by journalist bodies in Islamabad on Friday urged the powers that be to put an end to the violence against journalists. The protesting media persons vowed to continue 'reporting the truth' despite the threats.
