Fact-Check: Reports Of Rape Of Minor Christian Girl In Faisalabad Turn Out To Be False
Social media reports of the alleged rape and torture of a minor Christian girl in Faisalabad have turned out to be false. Posts claiming that the girl was forced to recite kalima while being sexually abused have been doing the rounds on social media for the past few days.
However, authorities in Faisalabad and Sukkur have denied that any such incident took place.
Several public figures and celebrities had shared the posts using the hashtag #JusticeForSunitaMasih, expressing horror at the alleged incident and urging the authorities to catch the perpetrators.
Feeling sick to the stomach. With each new case, humanity plunges deeper and deeper into a dreary, dark pit. Why are we turning into morally depraved monsters? Abhorrent! #JusticeForSunitaMaseeh
