Supreme Court (SC) has rejected Justice Qazi Faez Isa's petition seeking live coverage of his case.
The petition was rejected by majority vote, as six judges of the top court dismissed the request put forth by Justice Isa to broadcast the hearing of the case. Four judges supported Justice Isa's demand.
A detailed verdict on the request will be issued afterwards.
Justice Isa had called on the apex court to give permission for broadcast of his case live as he was at the receiving end of propaganda and smear campaigns on social media to which he cannot respond being a judge. He had sought public hearing of his case on the grounds that he has the right to defend himself against the propaganda being done against him.
