Pakistan Reports Highest Single Day Death Toll Since Beginning Of Pandemic
Pakistan on Saturday witnessed 157 deaths due to COVID-19, which is the highest death toll since the beginning of the pandemic last year. Earlier, the country's highest death toll from Covid was 153 which was reported in June last year.
Total deaths from the virus are now 16,999. Punjab had the highest number of deaths in the last 24 hours, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Moreover, the positivity rate of Covid in Pakistan rose to 11.27 per cent on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday said that the country would not go for a full lockdown. Following a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NOC), the PM called on the public to follow Covid SOPs to avoid a 'complete lockdown'.
