LHC CJ Qasim Shah Lashes Out At DHA, Terms Army 'Biggest Land Grabber'
Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Mohammad Qasim Khan on Wednesday termed Pakistan Army the 'biggest land grabber', saying that the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) is involved in illegal occupation of lands.
He issued these remarks while hearing petitions filed by three citizens requesting the court to ask DHA not to disturb their possession of the land. They maintained that they had acquired the land on lease from the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB).

Further, the LHC chief justice said that a 50 kanal piece of land owned by the high court has also been 'grabbed' by the army.
Justice Khan regretted that the bar never addressed this matter, adding that he would direct the registrar of the high court to write a letter to the army chief in this regard.

DHA’s lawyer Altafur Rehman, in response, said that he was not aware of the occupation of the high court’s land. The chief justice then told him that the court could summon corps commander of Lahore to confirm this fact. "Uniform of the army is for serving, not to rule as a king," he said, adding that Almighty Allah made him say the truth.
