Khyber Paktunkhwa (KP) Health Minister Taimur Jhagra who is facing an FIR for flouting Covid SOPs at an iftar party appears to be evading court appearance. Assistant Commissioner on Wednesday sent police to get the health minister and others nominated in the FIR so the accused can be presented before the court, but the police failed to secure the minister’s custody.

Independent Urdu quoted Peshawar Assistant Commissioner as saying that the case was to be heard today but the minister did not present himself before the court as per law.

Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra was booked for flouting Covid SOPs after he went to a crowded restaurant for an Iftar-dinner in his constituency. He attended the gathering in spite of his own government restricting such activities to mitigate the spread of Covid.
