Asad Umar Says He Does Not Agree With New Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen's Assessment Of Economy
Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said that he did not agree with new Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen's assessment of the economic situation of the country. He expressed these views while talking to anchor Shahzad Iqbal during a show on Geo News.

The minister added that he would talk to Shaukat Tareen during the cabinet meeting [about his views on the economic situation]. Asad Umar also said that the country's economy headed in the right direction in the past two and a half years and that investment was increasing.

In response to a question, he said that it was up to the PM to decide on the roles of the minsters, adding that the economy made progress during Hafeez Sheikh's time as finance minister. The minister further said that if a minister works well, the PM will get credit and if the performance of a minister is not satisfactory, blame will lie with the PM.
