Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) MNA Javed Latif was arrested after rejection of his bail by a sessions court in a case pertaining to allegations of inciting people against the state.
The PML-N MNA had reportedly left the courtroom before the court announce its judgement. Javed Latif's lawyer Farhad Ali Shah claims that his client was arrested by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) near Saggian Pul. He says that the act of arresting an accused before the verdict is announced is violative of the law.
PML-N President and leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has, meanwhile, condemned Javed Latif's arrest, terming it an act of victimisation.
