30 PTI MNAs, MPAs Complain To PM Imran About Accountability Adviser Shahzad Akbar
30 MNAs and MPAs of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reportedly lodged a complaint against PM Imran Khan's Special Assistant on Accountability Shahzad Akbar during a meeting with the PM.

Journalist Benazir Shah quoted PTI leader Isa Khakwani as saying that the parliamentarians told the PM that Akbar was going against his mandate by using his influence as the 'de facto' interior minister to use the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against estranged PTI leader Jahangir Tareen and his family.

Responding to the complaints, the PM told the lawmakers that he will form a commission headed by PTI Senator Ali Zafar to look into these allegations, adding that no one will be treated unfairly on his watch. The PTI leader said that Ali Zafar is likely to present a report in this regard to the PM 'within a fortnight'.

Jahangir Tareen whose sugar mill is being investigated by the FIA in the wake of sugar crisis that emerged last year has complained of unfair treatment. Shahzad Akbar denied these allegations earlier this month, saying that everyone is equal before the law and no unfair treatment has been meted out to Tareen.
