Women’s Action Forum (WAF) has condemned the manhandling of PMLN leaders including female lawmaker Maryam Aurangzeb, outside the National Assembly by protesting workers of PTI today.
In a statement, the women rights organisation said, “WAF Lahore is shocked at the hooliganism by PTI workers attack on opposition leaders including woman politician @Marriyum_A. WAF strongly condemns such pre planned actions regardless of which party is targeted.”
The statement further said, “The dastardly behaviour especially with a woman politician reflects the absence of decency. WAF expresses solidarity with @Marriyum_A women politicians who have the courage to face goons. WAF expects PTI leadership to apologise for the condemnable behaviour of party workers.”
PMLN leaders including Ahsan Iqbal were holding a press conference outside National Assembly when PTI supported allegedly harassed and manhandled the politicians. The videos of this incident have gone viral on social media.
