#StopEndangeringWomen Trends On Twitter To Protest Court Order Against Aurat March

Activists have expressed concern over the order of a local court in Peshawar directing police to register an FIR against organisers of the Aurat March over ‘obscene placards’. It is being said that the move will endanger the lives of the organisers and participants of the march. Social media users noted that the lies about ‘obscene’ and ‘blasphemous’ banners at the event were already debunked repeatedly, but the hateful campaign against them continues.
Further, using the hashtag #StopEndangeringWomen, the organisers and supporters of the march have urged the government to take action against the dangerous use of blasphemy allegations against them.
We are utterly dismayed at order issued by a PeshawarSessionCourt judge on Friday under Section 22A of the CrPC through which a police station in Peshawar Cantonment has been instructed to file an FIR ag ‘organisers & participants of Islamabad March #StopEndangeringwomen pic.twitter.com/YSw5vN3gL1

Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) also condemned the development in a series of tweets.
🗣️ HRCP is gravely concerned by a court direction to register an FIR against @AuratAzadiMarch on charges that have been categorically debunked. 1/2#StopEndangeringWomen

A reminder: Not a single placard at this year's Aurat March was even slightly offensive to religion. Yet rightwingers continue to use dangerous lies & doctored footage to silence women marching for rights. And now judges are shamefully affirming those lies.#StopEndangeringWomen

I stand proudly with #AuratAzadiMarch2021, & condemn these false charges against them. The most cowardly people use religion to silence those who are standing up for their rights. Those making false accusations must be held to account. @AuratAzadiMarch #StopEndangeringWomen

Why are FALSE allegations that have been debunked multiple times STILL being used to harass and threaten the organizers of AURAT MARCH. WHY IS THE STATE SILENT? Why is it not protecting and taking a stand publicly?#jhootbandkaro #WhereIsTheState#StopEndangeringWomen

Vicious and baseless propaganda against Aurat March activists is part of regressive campaign for promoting Talibanization in the region. It’s official policy. That’s why NAP remains unimplemented and terrorism raising its ugly head again.#StopEndangeringWomen #WhereIsTheState

Even after the allegations and smear campaign launched against AAM were debunked by credible journalists and organizers multiple times, a judge has urged Peshawar police to unjustly lodge FIRs against AAM Isl organizers. #StopEndangeringWomen #WhereIsTheState #JhootBandKaro

Despite clarifications, organizers continue to be harassed based on doctored footage. These shameful attacks must end. #StopEndangeringWomen https://t.co/CbTU8ZNLYn

Alarming how a Peshawar court is ordering police to register an FIR against organizers of Aurat March in Islamabad for reasons that have already been debunked entirely! Malicious social media trolling must not be legitimized by state institutions. #StopEndangeringWomen

So many threats to Aurat March all based on lies & disinformation. But complete silence from the government. They need to speak up for the truth, against weaponisation of blasphemy, & to safeguard vulnerable women. #WhereIsTheState #StopEndangeringWomen
