PM Imran Gets Vote Of Confidence Days After Senate Defeat
Prime Minister Imran Khan has won the vote of confidence by bagging 178 votes, six more than the requirement, three days after an 'embarrassing' defeat in the Senate elections.

The premier after securing the vote thanked everyone who has stayed by his side through “thick and thin.”

To win a vote of confidence 172 votes are needed, and PM Imran Khan managed to get 178. The speaker of the National Assembly said that eight years ago, the premier had gotten 176 votes to get elected and “today he has secured 178 votes.”

After Imran Khan’s speech, PTI member Amir Liaquat took the floor and recited poetry.

Lawmakers at the sessions congratulated the prime minister, one of whom was MQM's Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. He said: “You got the confidence [of the House], now it is your turn to return that confidence to the nation.”
