Leaked Video Fiasco: Ali Haider Confirms He Advised PTI MNAs On Having Their Votes Rejected
After emergence of a leaked video of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader and opposition candidate Yousaf Raza Gilani's son Ali Haider Gillani telling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers how to have their Senate votes rejected, he has confirmed the authenticity of the clip, saying that he was advising the PTI lawmakers on votes rejection because they are his 'friends'.

Haider Gilani added that he has been holding several meetings to lobby for the Senate polls tomorrow. "It is my right to seek votes from all MNAs," he further said in a press conference held after the video surfaced.

“We have requested many of our old and new friends, who belong to the ruling party, for their votes,” Ali Haider said. The PPP leader also accused Prime Minister Imran Khan of buying Senate votes by issuing Rs500 million funds each to all his party’s lawmakers. He called on the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of the PM's alleged action of bribing his MNAs.

Further, Ali Haider claimed that some PTI members will vote for Yousaf Raza Gilani because they have differences with PTI candidate Hafeez Sheikh. "They asked me what they should do if they are forced by their party to vote for its candidate. I told them that it is their right under the Constitution to keep their votes secret," Gilani said.
