Police Apologise As No Evidence Found Against Arrested Student Leaders
Charges against the five student leaders who were arrested in an early morning raid in Lahore last week for organising protests against physical exams have been dropped after the police admitted that there was no evidence against them.
Zubair Siddiqi, the student who remained in custody for days, was also released today.
In the hearing today, police admitted that they had arrested the students without evidence and apologised to the court for the same.
Since the news of universities reopening came out, students from various universities across the nation started protesting against on campus examination. There have been reports of violence against the protestors by police personnel at various universities.
