Indian Police Files FIR Against Climate Activist Greta Thunberg Over Pro-Farmers Tweet
In a bizarre development, teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg has been named by the Delhi police in a case for ‘participating in a criminal conspiracy and promoting enmity’ after she tweeted in support of the Indian farmers protesting against new farm bills.

Indian media reported that the FIR registered against the 18-year-old activist charges her with Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race) and Section 120B (criminal conspiracy).

Media trolls from India including mostly the right wing supporters of Modi government criticised the activist and other international celebrities who on the their social media voiced support for the farmers protesting. They have trolled the celebrities saying that they don’t know anything about Indian politics. Even public figures in India including big names of Bollywood and Indian cricket team have since made posts that enunciate that everything is right in India and the article Rihanna and Greta shared is just a “sensationalist” social media post. Subsequently hashtags of #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainstPropoganda started tending in the country.
