Firdous Ashiq Awan Says She Wants PPP To Win By-Polls
In an apparent slip of tongue, Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan expressed the hope that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would win the by-elections.

Talking about the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to withhold the results due to suspected rigging, Awan told the media that the government is awaiting the result.

She said: “We wish to see the supremacy of the law and the Constitution upheld. The Election Commission, that has the role of a regulator, while taking notice of the matter, must direct the relevant returning officer to announce the result of this constituency immediately. So that the Peoples Party's victory can earnestly be celebrated.”

While PTI awaits the results, PMLN has demanded the re-election in NA-75 polling station as 23 presiding officers had allegedly “gone missing” late at night.
