US Capitol building was stormed by President Donald Trump’s rioting supporters to fight against the ceremonial counting of the electoral votes that will confirm President-elect Joe Biden’s win.

World leaders have condemned this act and have called it an “assault on democracy”. British Prime Minister on his Twitter account wrote, “The United States stands for democracy around the world and it is now vital that there should be a peaceful and orderly transfer of power.”

Meanwhile the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau wrote, “Canadians are deeply disturbed and saddened by the attack on democracy in the United States, our closest ally and neighbours.”

New Zealand’s Prime Minister also tweeted: “Democracy — the right of people to exercise a vote, have their voice heard and then have that decision upheld peacefully should never be undone by a mob.”

Furthermore Indian Prime Minister, narendra modi who is considered to be an ally of Trumps’ also condemned the act. “Distressed to see news about rioting and violence in Washington DC. Orderly and peaceful transfer of power must continue. The democratic process cannot be allowed to be subverted through unlawful protests.”

4 people have been reported to be dead.
