Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a foreign funding case against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) after having previously filed foreign funding cases against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

PTI Member National Assembly (MNA) Farukh Habib lodged the petition which contains a transcript of a TV interview with senior JUI-F leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed in which he talked about the party chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, receiving funds from Iraq and Libya.

“Several JUI-F leaders, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman, used to visit Libya and Iraq on a regular basis,” the petition reads.

“The sources through which Fazlur Rehman made his properties will be revealed It will also reveal the source from where the anti-government campaign in the country was funded,” said the MNA while addressing media after submitting the petition.

He further maintained that ECP has the power to summon the ones accused and hold them responsible. Referring to Fazlur Rehman, the MNA added: “You don’t care about Islam, you care about Islamabad.”
