PTA Blocks Over 400 Links Of Netflix Movie About Prophet Muhammad’s Daughter
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) told the Islamabad High Court (IHC) that 452 out of 778 links to the blasphemous content of a Netflix movie 'The Lady of Heaven', which depicts the life of Bibi Fatima, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s daughter, had been blocked.

In light of the direction of the court, the PTA counsel submitted the report before the judge. He clarified that 778 links were found by the authority where the blasphemous material was available, of which access to 452 links has been blocked.

The movie's trailer was aired on Netflix, according to PTA, and if it was uploaded to any other website, they would be asked to remove it.

PTA’s counsel added that in order to regulate the blasphemous content on social media giants, PTA has invited these websites to open office on Pakistan. “Netflix should be banned permanently for uploading a ‘sacrilegious’ film while Google, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook should be instructed to open franchises in Pakistan within six months. The matter has also been taken up with these websites,” he added.
