IBA Graduate Militant Gets Life Imprisonment For Murder Of Navy, Police Officers
Islamic State (IS) militant Saad Aziz has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an anti terrorism court (ATC) for killing an officer of Pakistan Navy and an official of the Rapid Response Force.

Saad Aziz was found guilty for the murders of Navy Captain Naveed Ahmed and RPF Constable Waqar Hashmi. The former was targeted on his way to Navy Engineering college with his UK National wife. He had died on the spot while his wife survived. Hashmi on the other hand was killed at the Power House Chowrangi in New Karachi in October 2014 when he was returning home after duty.

Before announcing the verdict, the judge observed that the prosecution successfully established that Aziz is guilty and responsible for the murders. Reaching the verdict, the judge convicted Aziz of murder and sentenced him live imprisonment along with a cumulative fine of Rs500,000 on the convict.

The militant is a graduate of the Institute of Business Administration. Before his life imprisonments sentence he had already been awarded death sentence by a military court for the Safoora Goth massacre and the murder of social activist Sabeen Mahmud among other cases. Aziz was once a student at Karachi’s prestigious IBA.
