A Christian nurse at Sohraj hospital in Karachi was beaten up by a mob of women who accused her of committing blasphemy.
In videos and pictures doing the rounds on social media, these women can be seen slapping the nurse claiming she committed blasphemy. A man is also shouting that the nurse shouldn’t be let out of the hospital because she “insulted out dear Prophet.”
The victim was beaten up by brooms before police arrived and took her in its custody where she disclosed that she hadn’t said anything and the women in abayas had planned it all beforehand.
Police have released the nurse after finding that the allegations were baseless and shifted her to a secure location.
