Renowned Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next venture will be based on Lahore’s red light area, Heera Mandi.
It is being reported that the Padmavat director is going to produce a film about Lahore’s Heera Mandi and the women living there. However, Bhansali reportedly will not be the the executive director of the film. His assistant Vibhuv Puri will be officially directing the film.
According to the rumour mill, Bhansali himself will be casting the actors. Alia Bhatt could be one of the leads but there are chances of the cast including other big names such Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, Manisha Koirala or Vidya Balan.
This next project is going to be an exclusive digital release for Netflix. It is still unclear whether it will be a feature film or a web series.
