A policeman was arrested for allegedly raping a woman at his house in Sadiqabad.
Dawn reported that the rape survivor had registered a criminal case with police last month, and had been going to the police station for this purpose.
According to the woman, the said cop assured her of his assistance in investigating the case. He however started messaging her on WhatsApp and eventually proposed to her.
The FIR alleges that the policeman asked her to come to the police station on December 13 so he could discuss the case with her. The cop then took her to his house where he raped her.
When CPO Rawalpindi was informed of the incident, he directed the authorities concerned to act against the accused, after which he was arrested and a case registered against him.
