Meesha Harassment Case: 'Reporters Covering Proceedings Were Fed Lies By Ali Zafar's Legal Team'
Actor Iffat Omar, who is currently being cross examined as singer Meesha Shafi's witness in the sexual harassment case filed by the latter against fellow singer Ali Zafar, has said that the system is biased in favour of the accused. While talking about the misleading reports about her testimony in the court a few days ago, she said that it was falsely reported that she fell unconscious while giving her statement in the court. "I only asked the judge to let me sit for a while, and they twisted it to suggest as if I had fainted during cross examination," she said.

Iffat expressed these views during a Naya Daur show on Tuesday.

Further, the actor revealed that members of Ali Zafar's legal team were telling lies to reporters outside the court [about the proceedings], which they reported as facts. She lamented that a lot of disinformation was being spread to give an impression that Ali Zafar has been absolved of the sexual harassment charges. "The case has not yet been heard on its merits and demerits," she noted, adding that the court should at least listen to Meesha's allegations. Iffat also emphasized the importance of distancing oneself from sexual harassment accused until they come clean on the allegations.
